With a friendship spanning more than 20 years, we are proud to welcome the Surrey branch of the Royal British Legion as we host a Commemoration of the 40th Anniversary of the Falklands Islands War alongside our 80’s Revival Night. Veterans involved in the three-month conflict, which took place from April to June, 1982, will be staging a special March Past down the track to allow racegoers to pay their respects and give their thanks for their service.
As well as a military band, military vehicles and the VIP veteran guests and dignitaries, the Royal British Legion will be raising much-needed funds used to support families of service men and women.
You will be welcomed on to the racecourse by “Ska’d it up” performing all those favourite Rock ‘n Roll hits and the colourful Brolly Ladies who will be fundraising during the evening. With seven exciting races on the all-weather track and the focus on the work of the RBL, the evening will end with a celebration of all things Eighties, with our special live performance on the outdoor stage. Experience a true throwback extravaganza celebrating all the chart-topping anthems in one EPIC CONCERT including electrifying tributes to Madonna, Erasure, Culture Club, The Human League, Cindi Lauper, Depeche Mode, Wham! and many more iconic artists, all backed by our live band ‘Electric Dreams’ and featuring our very own 80s cast. Take a trip down memory lane and put your dancing shoes on for hits which will include: Don’t You Want Me Baby, Karma Chameleon, Respect, Just Can’t Get Enough, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, Wake Me Up Before You Go Go! and many more!
