About this event
The 2025 BetVictor Welsh Open will run from 10-16 February at Venue Cymru in Llandudno.
The Welsh Open is one of the longest running tournaments on the World Snooker Tour - in fact the World Championship and the UK Championship are the only ranking events with a longer history.
First staged as a ranking event in 1992, it has been won by most of the sport's all-time greats, though in recent years there have been surprise winners in Jordan Brown, Joe Perry and Robert Milkins. In 2024, Gary Wilson captured the crown, beating Martin O'Donnell in the final.
Previously staged in Newport and Cardiff, its current home is Llandudno on the beautiful coast of North Wales. Televised by BBC Wales and Eurosport, it is also the only UK-based event, outside the Triple Crown series, broadcast live by CCTV5 in China.
During the 2024/25 season, BetVictor will sponsor the World Snooker Tour’s Home Nations Series, featuring the English Open, Northern Ireland Open, Scottish Open, and Welsh Open. The celebrated BetVictor Bonus will be applicable across these events, with the leading prize winner over the four tournaments earning an extra £150,000.
